Doctoral Program in Economics is a research-oriented degree program designed for candidates with prior research and training in economics, management, and accounting with strong analytical and critical components, who wish to prepare themselves in teaching and research in academia or for responsible positions in government, research organizations, or business enterprises. This program offers three concentration (study major): economics, management and accounting. Upon its completion, candidates are awarded a PhD degree for producing a doctoral thesis of high-quality, original, and publishable research over a period of three years
PDIE is part of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro with a vision: “Entrepreneurial faculty with a leading role in transformative development through research, learning, innovation, and collaboration in economics and business”. The vision and mission of the Faculty of Economics and Business is in line with the Vision and Mission of Universitas Diponegoro, which is also carried out by PDIE.
PDIE Vision:
A leading doctoral program that provide academicians with freedom of creation and development of creative, innovative and original thoughs to maintain the sustainabiity of knowledge and to solve problems in economics/management/accounting with national and I ternational recognition.
PDIE Objective:
The main objective of PDIE is to produce creative, innovative, and transformative graduates capable of developing and disseminating knowledge and solving problems in economics, management, or accounting through interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary approaches. Graduates of the program are hoped to be recognized nationally and internationally.
Based on the National Standards for Higher Education (Standar Nasional Pendidikan Tinggi) and The Indonesian National Qualification Framework (Kerangka Kualifikasi Nasional Indonesia-KKNI) level 9, the above objective will be achieved through the following learning outcomes:
- Research Skills: students are trained to become innovative and transformative researchers who are capable of gaining national and international recognition due to their ability to produce high-quality, original, and publishable research for both academic and non-academic settings using interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, or multidisciplinary research approaches.
- Analytical and Social Skills: students are equipped with the mathematical and statistical tools and socio-cultural understanding necessary for their future careers.
- Problem Solving Skills: students are taught how to solve complex problems in economics/management/accounting through the application of their acquired technical tools and socio-cultural understanding, and the identification and correct use of data sources.
- Presentation and Writing Skills: students are equipped with the skills needed to present their work in both seminars and written format for the benefit of their future careers.
